As most of us know, the
nucleus is the location of the genes in all of eukaryotic cells. Although genes
are a beautiful part of the cell/nucleus, when a genetic mutation occurs it is
almost never a pretty site. Diseases and conditions such as Spinal Muscular
Atrophy, Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, Revesz Syndrome, Teacher Collins Syndrome
and many more are only the start of the list of problems that can occur from
mutations in genes.
Conditions that derive
from genetic mutations usually result in physical, intellectual, developmental,
and medical issues. They can cause major road blocks to living an everyday
normal life.
Just be careful when
deciding to give your vote to the nucleus, when genetic mutations are found
in DNA whose home is… the nucleus. Can we really put our trust in them?
